Business card holder
Whip up a little case for your business cards, and while you’re at it, maybe some for your friends. They are really quick and easy. Dig through your extra buttons for a pretty embellishment. This is also a great scrap-busting project.
Supplies
Pattern
For each case, cut one piece of fabric, one lining piece and one piece of fusible fleece measuring 5-1/2″x4-3/4″ (HxW).
Cut 2 pieces of fabric measuring 2-1/2″x4-3/4″ (HxW).
Process
Make a 1/4″ hem on the top edge of your inside pocket pieces (fold over and press 1/4″, then do that again and stitch).
Pin and baste your pocket pieces to the lining piece as shown above. Baste only along the outside, not along the top of the pockets. Obviously, you don’t want to sew them shut.
Take a small piece of elastic or a hair tie and baste to the center edge with the loop that you will be using facing toward the center of the case.
Fuse your fusible fleece to the outer piece of your case (not shown). Then, right-sides together, sew your outer piece to your lining/pockets piece, leaving a hole for turning. Clip the corners.
Turn it right-side out through the hole. Then press it smooth, turning in the seam allowances of the hole and pressing them in place.
Top stitch all the way around the case. Then mark the center of the case (blue, above) and stitch.
Sew a button on the outside on the side opposite where your elastic is.
