Let’s coordinate fabric for the bedroom!
Last week I covered a headboard now let’s design a bedroom around it! During this blog, I will take you through my bedroom fabric coordinating.
Procedure:
The first step in creating my dream bedroom was to choose my primary color that was going to be the focus.
As you can tell by the photo I chose a soft blue color. I then painted my walls an oatmeal color which will go with just about anything. I will use the Metro Linen turquoise for my headboard and possibly the dust ruffle.
Next I needed to decide on a fabric for window treatments.
I chose a brand new fabric from Warehouse Fabrics called Bel Air Ocean Blue. This fabric has some beautiful soft tans and ivory within the embroidery.
I want to use this fabric for a sheer along with my drapery fabric. The linette fabrics are great sheer fabrics!
Next I moved back to the bedding. Warehouse Fabrics carries some beautiful Washed Jacquard Natural fabrics in several designs but I believe the Diamond Washed Natural will be my choice.
I really like to use a soft natural color for the bed spread because you can add some color with pillows.
This photo shows all the fabrics together. During the next few weeks I will demonstrate how to make cornice board window treatments, a dust ruffle, sheers, and bedding using these fabrics. I am looking forward to the process.
Happy sewing everybody!
