Let’s make a long lumbar pillow!
During this blog, I will demonstrate how to make this lovely long lumbar pillow which is great for your bed!
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
For this project I used 1/2 yard of Bosporus #197, a yard of Vera 686 trim and I made piping using one half yard of Pure Linen.
PROCEDURE:
First step in creating this lovely long lumbar pillow was to decide how long I needed it to finish. Since I wanted to use the beautiful toile scene on the Bosporus #197, I decided to make it finish 14″ x 33″ long.
The next step is to add the piping to the perimeter of one of the pieces that was cut out. As you can see by the photo the piping is added to the face of the fabric.
Next, I want to add this tassel fringe to the edge of the lumbar at the short ends. Notice how the trim is placed then sewn.
Now add the other piece of fabric that was cut at the beginning and with the face of each piece of fabric together start sewing these together. Since, I did not want a zipper in this pillow I will leave six inch section in the bottom of the pillow which will allow for the addition of pillow stuffing.
In the six inch section start pulling the pillow out to turn it face side out.
After stuffing the pillow it is time to stitch the six inch seam closed.
Now that you know how to make this beautiful lumbar pillow get that sewing machine out and try!!
Happy sewing until next time!
