I cut and seamed 54" Silk Dupioni 1" Plaid - Seville Oasis - to make "ribbons" for the entry doors to our golf club. The fabric was cut into 4 widths and joined, and then turned under and seamed along the sides. The ribbon was then tied front and back on both doors in knots. Other ribbon and decorative stems were added to the knotted center to provide a bouquet effect (both front and back of the doors). They are very dramatic and make the doors like entering a Christmas package.
