A pretty wall organizer

I wish I could have done this organizer justice with the camera, because live and in-person, it’s just adorable. I love it! The fabrics all look great together and it’s a convenient way to keep track of receipts or any kind of paperwork! It a mostly no-sew project, but there is a little bit of machine time included. Make sure you have a staple gun and a hot-glue gun handy!

12"x24" canvas

Wide grosgrain ribbon

Metal book plates

I used double-sided fusible Peltex, which is very, very stiff interfacing. I just needed one layer of that and bought 1 yard. I folded it lengthwise to cut my pieces on the fold. I found that .5 yards of each fabric was plenty. Because there was no wide twill tape in a color flattering to my fabrics, I used ribbon instead. The 12″x24″ canvas I got at Michael’s after looking for that size at several shops. And, finally, I got the metal book plates in the papercraft section.

In the instructions at Noodlehead, she uses a spray adhesive to secure the fabric to the canvas before stapling it. I thought I bought spray adhesive but instead bought regular, non-spray paper glue. I guess I know my way around the fabric section a little better than the paper section. I didn’t have any problem skipping the adhesive and just stapling.

The pattern

Instructions for this project can be found at Noodlehead. There’s a little sewing, lots of gluing and plenty of stapling! This is a fun project and has some fun for every kind of crafter. It’s also a great way to showcase coordinating fabrics.
