I used double-sided fusible Peltex, which is very, very stiff interfacing. I just needed one layer of that and bought 1 yard. I folded it lengthwise to cut my pieces on the fold. I found that .5 yards of each fabric was plenty. Because there was no wide twill tape in a color flattering to my fabrics, I used ribbon instead. The 12″x24″ canvas I got at Michael’s after looking for that size at several shops. And, finally, I got the metal book plates in the papercraft section.
In the instructions at Noodlehead [10], she uses a spray adhesive to secure the fabric to the canvas before stapling it. I thought I bought spray adhesive but instead bought regular, non-spray paper glue. I guess I know my way around the fabric section a little better than the paper section. I didn’t have any problem skipping the adhesive and just stapling.
