Flex-frame eyeglass case

It’s easy to whip up an eyeglass case, but I wanted to try one with a flex frame.  I’d never used them before, and they are very easy. The problem is finding them in small quantities and with reasonable shipping. I whipped up two cases in no time, and I think these would make great quick and easy gifts. They are lightly padded, and the flex frame is easy to use and ensures your glasses stay put. My glasses like to roam around in the bottom of my purse where they get smashed, or hang out in my son’s mouth – both places that well-behaved glasses shouldn’t be found.

You just need small amounts of various fabrics. Each case needs an outer fabric and a lining. It’s nice to have two different, coordinating fabrics on the outside.

I couldn’t find the 3.5″ flex frames in quantities and at shipping prices that appealed to me, so I settled on 4″ ones from Art Pony. I’m linking there because I did spend quite a bit of time searching the Web for these. The shipping was reasonable, the quantities small and the service good.

NOTE: Because I used 4″ flex frames instead of the 3.5″ frames used in the tutorial at Crafty Ady, I had to add 1/2 inch to my flex frame sleeve pattern piece. From there, I proceeded as instructed in the tutorial.
