Let’s make a fun Christmas stocking pillow
During this blog, I will demonstrate how to make this festive Christmas stocking pillow.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
PROCEDURE:
First step in creating this fun festive pillow was to cut out my pillow out of Wisdom Burlap. This fabric is a wonderful base fabric for this pillow. I cut the form 20″ by 20″ square.
Next I cut out the stocking body.
I drew a stocking on butcher paper and cut the toe part off so I could make this stocking with three different fabrics. This is the body of the stocking. Cut one piece.
Next I placed the toe of the stocking on a different fabric. I made sure not to include any of the white from this beautiful fabric.
Next cut out the cuff for the stocking. I chose this deer print. Cute!!
Once you have all the pieces cut out, it is time to start adding them to your pillow front. Place the stocking body on your pillow first. Pin in place.
Next, add your stocking toe. Pin in place.
Take your pillow front to your sewing machine and straight stitch around the stocking body and toe.
Now take the gimp and stitch it around the stocking body and toe.
Next, it is time to add the stocking cuff. Before you can add this to the stocking you need to press under your raw edges of the cuff all except the bottom that is attached to the stocking body because you will hide this raw edge with trim. Once you have it pressed, place and pin it above the stocking body and straight stitch around its edge.
I liked the look of using both eyelash trims so I placed the lime on bottom and red on top then stitched to the bottom edge of my stocking cuff.
I added to bell to the tip of the stocking toe with needle and thread.
Last thing to do is make your pillow. Since I have given instructions on how to make a pillow in previous blogs I will not get into that step.
Now you know how to make this wonderfully festive Christmas stocking pillow!!
Happy sewing!
