No-sew knee patches

IMG_7263 [1]When I saw the Ultra Fur Chocolate, I just knew I’d need to make some knew patches for my little one! She turned one last month, and now she walks just about everywhere, but for several months, she was crawling and wearing out all of her leggings!! They looked dingy, so I thought knee patches would be a cheap fix- and it was! This project is not only simple, but quick! If you have all of the materials on hand, it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes.

Here’s what you’ll need:

IMG_7258 [6]First, measure the worn out area on the leggings. I measure one inch wide by two inches long.

IMG_7259 [7]Next, cut your patches. I just freehanded it, being sure to make them at least as long & wide as the worn area. Fold your fabric in half so you only need to shut once. The patches should be almost identical if you cut this way.

IMG_7260 [8]IMG_7261 [5]Cut scraps of plastic to place inside of the legs at the knee. This is so you do not glue the legs together as the glue sometimes will bleed through layers.

IMG_7262 [9]Once you’ve located exactly where you want to place your patch, flip it over and spread the glue all over the suede side. Then place it on the leggings and apply pressure. Repeat on the other side.

It’s important to let the glue dry for at least 24 hours. Once dry, try them out on your cute little cruiser.

*I was curious how the fuzz would hold up after going through the washer, and I’m happy to report that it held up just fine!
