The Classic Shirt

After being pregnant for what seemed like 2 years and then having a lovely postpartum belly, I was anxious to get back to making clothing. One pattern company I really like is Favorite Things. It’s a small business with really cute designs. I always like the idea of button-up shirts but I never seem to really like them on me. I decided to give this one a whirl, and I really do like it.
The bell sleeves and gathering are cute style details and the shirt has a nice fit without being too tight, which I definitely need right now.

The pattern

You can find this pattern at Favorite Things I really like patterns from this company because they always have cute design details and they are really simple to assemble. The instructions are easy to follow. Nothing about sewing them is ever over-complicated. I can’t understand why all pattern companies don’t do things this way. The end result of a Favorite Things pattern is just as good, if not better, than an item from another pattern company. I say “better” because the less fussy the instructions, the more likely you are to get a good result.
