For certain apparel and reupholstery projects, you'll need flame retardant fabric instead of other materials that could easily catch on fire like 100% cotton. For example, uniform shirts for industrial occupations like welding, steelwork, petrochemicals, and electrical maintenance must be flame resistant to keep the wearer safe when working with flames and/or electricity. We offer several different types and designs for flame retardant fabric that will certainly satisfy your needs for personal and commercial pursuits.
There are a variety of fabrics in this collection to choose from to suit your project. Two of these are made with Milliken's Amplitude material, which is their high-performance flame-resistant fabric. It's comprised of 88% cotton and 12% nylon, making it perfect for apparel. This material will help protect the wearer from the threat of electrical arcs and flash fires while keeping them comfortable. We offer this flame retardant fabric in Twill Red and Poplin Khaki, two colors that will also work well as table linens, drapery, slipcovers, and other home décor. The Milliken fabric is UL listed and NFPA 70E, NESC, and NFPA 2112 compliant. Reupholstering the seats of a watercraft or need covers for them? Choose the marine vinyl fabric, offered in Glam Quartz, Glam Platinum, and Glam Copper Agate. The vinyl material is specially designed to be flame resistant and has a metallic-like shine that looks excellent on boat seats, outdoor awnings, and general reupholstered furniture. Other flame retardant fabric options contain a blend of polyester and cotton that also suits the comfort needs of apparel projects. Keep people, furniture, décor, and more safe from the damaging effects of electrical sparks and fire.
