The pattern is made from a bunch of squares, so you can easily change the size by changing the size of the squares. Interesting buttons can really make the pillow special!
A slot seam allows you to add a little peek-a-boo of fun to your sewing. The seam can lie closed, but it pops open just a bit to reveal another fabric inside. Use a simple contrasting solid, or a whole different print. This can be incorporated into clothing really easily!

I should have done this in advance, but here I was, days before Easter, trying to whip up a homemade Easter basket for my almost-2-year-old. For this project, you’ll use strips of fabric wrapped around really pudgy piping. Then you’ll coil the whole thing into a basket.
